Jazzy Peach

Happy Monday! It is time for my last New Orleans style post! Don’t worry, a full travel post with restaurant and activity recommendations is coming soon.

As I mentioned in my post last week, one of the homeowners in the French Quarter let Trevor and me into her private courtyard to take some photos (and use her bathroom). She owns the most adorable pink house! She lives in the front portion and occasionally rents out the back portion for events and weddings.

The courtyard area would be PERFECT for a small wedding. There are trees, plants, and flowers EVERYWHERE. It was the perfect setting to take a few photos and get out of the sun for a bit. The colors and the flora just so happened to match my new Pink Blush peach lace dress perfectly! I had been looking forward to wearing it down in New Orleans. Nothing like a little peach in the south! It was a little more forgiving for my bump and very comfortable to wander around in. I paired it with my new white studded sandals. I typically don’t buy white shoes or sandals but, when I saw these, I knew they had to be mine! The studs are so fun and they will be perfect to slip into all summer long!

After cooling off for a bit, we wandered from Dumaine over to Royal Street to get some coffee and listen to some live jazz. I loved just standing on the corner, listening, and taking it all in. It felt so authentic to New Orleans. Over the course of the rest of the weekend, I went back a few times to watch and listen again. They were great! Trevor explained that the group playing on the corner was featured in the HBO show, Treme. After I got back to New Jersey, I did a little research and found out that the band was called Doreen’s Jazz. You should definitely check them out!

Thank you Pink Blush for partnering on this post.
