Mainland Poke in Los Angeles

While E and I were in Los Angeles a couple months back,ย we were lucky enough to visit Mainland Poke for lunch. After following their Instagram for MONTHS, I had been DYING to try one of their poke bowls. We have been on a bit of a poke rampage ever since the poke craze hit New York City. Thankfully, Mainland Pokeย did not disappoint. In fact, my poke bowl surpassed all of my expectations. It was AMAZING. The fish was fresh and the toppings were tasty!

When we arrived, we were expecting more of a sit down restaurant. It is actually more of a poke bar, which worked just as well for us. We surveyed theirย menu,ย and both E and I elected to make our own bowls. I did a brown rice base with ahi tuna, toro, ponzu sauce, avocado, seaweed salad, mango and topped it with crispy onions and scallions. To see what my bowl looked like before I devoured it, scroll down for a photo. E’s bowl had brown rice, toro, spicy tuna, spicy shoyu sauce, avocado, sriracha, black sesame and crispy onions. He also ate every last morsel.

I wish we had room for seconds, it was that good! Next time we are in the LA area we will definitely be stopping in again for lunch!

  • I’ve been trying to plan a trip out to LA to visit friends and I LOVE poke!!!! When I go, I’ll definitely have to check this place out. This is such a cool concept and the food looks really REALLY good.

  • Yum! I’ve never had poke before, because I’m not the hugest fan of fresh fish… but it looks pretty tasty in the bowl you made ๐Ÿ™‚
