The (Pregnant) Summer Lawyer

Finding comfortable, professional clothing to wear to work during pregnancy can be a challenge. Thankfully, I have good friends who work and have kids who were able to point me in the right direction. Everyone suggested that I check out Asos, Gap, Pink Blush Maternity, Macy’s, A Pea in the Pod and Destination Maternity for all of my maternity needs. These are the places where I have done the bulk of my shopping. They all have great basics that can be worn with or to just about anything.

When I first started to need pregnancy pants, I went a little nuts at Macy’s and A Pea in the Pod, and scooped up five pairs of black pants, one for each day of the week. Three of the more professional variety, and two that were more like leggings. Over the last several months I have been switching off between pants and stretchy dresses, but a favorite among my many pairs ofย pants has emerged.

The leggings pants are BY FAR the cutest and most comfortable! I have been pairing them with maternity tees and tops, as well as oversized non-maternity shirts. This white off the shoulder top has been on repeat since the weather started warming up. It is maternity, but it doesn’t look like it is. When I am in the office, I just don’t wear it as an off the shoulder top. It is so easy to layer a great blazer on top of it as well.

I have found that wearing mules or slip-on shoes are the most comfortable shoes to wear now. Thankfully, I had already begun to stock up on them before pregnancy. I bought these black tasseled mules last year and have been wearing them non-stop. They go with everything! Just like my new personalized navy tote. It has room for my life and more. I love the texture of the leather on it, and I love that is has my initials. Who doesn’t love a personalized bag?!

I always feel so professional in this outfit. In fact, I wore it again just last Thursday! You can be pregnant and be a girl boss in the office at the same time!
