Fall Family Photos

One of the things I look forward to most about fall is taking new family photos. Lauren has been taking photos of our family for the last FOUR years! First it was just me and E, and now it is our whole crazy crew! It is so crazy to see how much has changed and how much we have changed over time.

This year in particular, I have found that documenting our lives in photographs has kept me sane during this pandemic. I love that it has allowed me to share snapshots of our lives with friends and family.

This family photoshoot was FAR from smooth but, if I have learned anything over the years, is that forcing my kids to try and sit for a photoshoot is pointless. They will resist and squirm the ENTIRE TIME. For the most part, we tried to be relaxed about it, went with the flow, and let the kids run free! Lauren snapped so many great moments and truly caught the kiddos in their natural habitat. She would never have captured these moments if we only took portrait style photos. More often then not, taking a more relaxed approach results in better images!

As for our outfits, I decided not to go too matchy matchy. I dressed everyone in a mix of earth tones and fall leaf colors. Our outfits complemented one another really nicely. I went with a oatmeal sweater, skinny jeans, and my favorite fuzzy slides. E wore a button down and jeans. I put Nathan in a long-sleeved striped tee and jeggings, and Nora in a matching ribbed burnt orange sweater and leggings set from Target.

I am so thankful for my family and these photos, and I cannot wait to frame a few of them for our home!
