I was recently introduced to a new farm fresh food delivery service called Illuminate Food. I was actually about to buy a box to give it a try when Danielle, the owner, reached out and offered to send me a box to review! Talk about perfect timing!
Danielle founded Illuminate Food in April of 2020 in response to her concern regarding all of the local food not going to restaurants as a result of the pandemic. The Illuminate Food Farm Box delivers farm fresh produce, local dairy, eggs, and bread right to your front door! No need to enter a grocery store! Danielle also strives to include products from local businesses in the boxes.
Danielle personally delivered the box to our front door, and I was OBSESSED with the way it was packaged. Each week you receive a wooden crate filled with delicious goodies. This one was FILLED TO THE BRIM. I was overwhelmed by all of the beautiful food. I couldn’t want to dig in! But not until I photographed every inch of the box from all of its best angles. Right?!
Each week, Danielle sends out an email detailing each item included in the box, explaining where the food came from, along with other little anecdotes. She also includes a recipe that is crafted specifically with each box in mind. The recipe included with our box was for Miso Eggplant. E and I are suckers for any dish with miso, so, of course, we had to make it. Let me tell you…the Miso Eggplant was OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS. The eggplant actually melts in your mouth, and the soft boiled egg adds an amazing richness to the dish. We had NO LEFTOVERS. I had never made eggplant this way before, but I will definitely be making it again very soon!
Check out what is in this week’s box, and click HERE to shop Illuminate Food! You can order a single box, or subscribe for weekly delivery. Illuminate Food is also currently offering special Holiday Gift Boxes (that feature my FAVE ravioli)!
Thank you Illuminate Food for partnering on this post.
