Over Memorial Day Weekend, E was studying for a big exam, so Nathan and I were mostly on our own. Instead of spending the holiday indoors, on Memorial Day itself, I decided to take Nathan into New York City to visit Washington Square Park. I had heard from friends that they have an amazing playground! I couldn’t wait to put Nathan in a swing for the first time! I also REALLY wanted to get some photos of Nathan under the arch. New York City is so quiet over holiday weekends because there is always a mass exodus for the Hamptons and Jersey Shore. On Memorial Day there was NO TRAFFIC! It took me 30 minutes to get from my house to the park. That is unheard of!
Since Nathan was born, we haven’t made it into New York City as often as we used to, so I wanted to memorialize this mini trip! In the future, Nathan won’t always want to go wherever mama wants to take him…
I reached out to Shoot My Travel to see if they had a photographer available. If you haven’t heard of Shoot My Travel before, you will be happy you are hearing about them now! Shoot My Travel is a vacation photographer service. They have photographers in 250 cities ALL OVER THE WORLD! They have multiple photographers in New York City! Click HERE for a list of their destinations. We worked with Travis, and he was EXCELLENT! He was great with Nathan, and his work really speaks for itself. The photos came out great!
We wandered around Washington Square Park and the surrounding areas. I loved taking Nathan to the Washington Mews for the first time. It is the most charming little street in New York City. The cobblestone street and window box-lined apartments are so cute!
Nathan got a little hungry midway through our jaunt, so I broke out some formula and one of Nathan’s favorite bottles, from Joovy, and fed him on the spot. See him holding the bottle on his own? He is such a big boy! Where did my baby go?!
Since Nathan was drinking his bottle, I wanted a drink of my own. On my way to the park I noticed that a Boba Guys had opened right around the corner. Tamryn of Wannabe Fashion Blogger RAVES about them, and E and I are HUGE boba fans, so I decided to pop in for a quick bubble tea. I was overwhelmed by all of the options. In the end, I ordered an iced Strawberry Matcha Latte with boba, and it was AMAZING. Even Nathan wanted a sip!
Nathan and I had such a great time in New York City. I am so happy that I was able to have Shoot My Travel capture so many special moments. We will truly treasure these photos forever! If you are traveling this summer and want to take some family photos or fashion photos, you should definitely look them up!
Thank you Shoot My Travel for partnering on this post.
