My Fave Five, Part 1

Today marks the beginning of a new series on the blog called My Fave Five. I am ALWAYS trying new products, including ones that I have purchased myself or that have been sent to me, so I have decided to share a few of my new favorites here on the blog.

Clarins Pore Control and Clarins One Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser– Purchased

I have been using Clarins beauty products almost exclusively since my facial back in May. I have really noticed a difference with my skin. It looks so much clearer and feels so much smoother than it used to! I decided to go in for another facial at the Clarins Spa a few weeks ago. During this facial, I was introduced to two products that I didn’t purchase the first time around, the Clarins One Stop Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser and the Clarins Pore Control.

Before this last facial, I exfoliated my skin once a week. I had been worried that doing it any more than that would make me break out more. My facialist assured me that this would not be the case. I decided to give it a try! Well…since the facial, I have been exfoliating my face every single day in the shower with the One Stop Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, and my face is baby butt soft! And I have not broken out any more than usual. I am obsessed, and will definitely be stocking up on this the next time I go in for a facial. I am sure my tube will be done by then!

I have SERIOUS clogged pore issues in my t-zone area so, post facial, I decided to give the Pore Control a try. It is one of the newest Clarins products! So far the results have been good. I have noticed a small decrease in visible pores on my nose. I put it on every day, post-shower and toner but pre-serum and moisturizer.

My skin care routine is definitely a process, but the proof is in the pudding! And it only take a minute or two from start to finish!

MAC Frost Lipstick – Purchased

I was wandering around in the Mall at Short Hills and, for some reason, I decided to stop into the MAC Store. It had been YEARS since I had been inside! I was looking at their lipstick display when I came across this Purple Frost Lipstick. I tried it on and it was so much fun! Definitely different than everything I owned. I knew it would add a fun twist to my fall and winter outfits, so I decided to buy it! There is no buyer’s remorse thus far. It has been such a great addition to my makeup bag. Who doesn’t love a little glitter this time of year?!

Almay Pink Light Medium Lipstick – Sent

Over the summer I received the most amazing press package from Almay, welcoming me into their Class of 2018. Inside was an amazing assortment of lipsticks, eyeshadows, and highlighters. One of my favorites from the package was the Almay Pink Light Medium Lipstick. It goes on smooth, makes my lips feel soft, and stays on for HOURS! Also, the color just seems to work with everything I wear. It also costs less than $6. I call that a WIN!

Peter Thomas Roth Gel Eye Patches – Purchased

One night, while scrolling through Instagram Stories, I saw a blogger using these Peter Thomas Roth Gel Eye Patches. I wish I could remember which one. Since it was late, they looked good, and I already had an Amazon cart going, I decided to add them and click ORDER. Wow, that was easy! Thanks to Amazon Prime, they arrived two days later. That night I opened them just after putting Nathan to sleep. I plopped myself down on the couch, applied the patches, and sipped on cold lemonade. Ahhhhhh! This is the life! The eye patches instantly cooled the skin under my eyes. I really loved the light scent of the aloe, cucumber, and chamomile. More than anything, it was just relaxing to sit and enjoy a mini spa treatment from the comfort of my couch. I have been using the eye patches every couple weeks as a reward after a particularly long day.  Are they essential? No. But are they a really nice treat? Absolutely!
