A Casual Valentine’s Day

Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? E and I have never been big celebrators of Valentine’s Day. I think the biggest deal we ever made about Valentine’s Day was the first year we dated. E surprised me with tickets to the Symphony at Lincoln Center! Not bad for only three weeks of dating, right? Ha! It has only been downhill since then. Just kidding!

Most years, E and I celebrate Valentine’s Day at home with a nice home cooked meal and a movie on the couch. This year, I am hoping to go out (maybe the weekend before or weekend after Valentine’s Day, but certainly never ON Valentine’s Day) for my FAVORITE ramen at Ani Ramen and a fancy donut at Montclair Bread Company. So instead of my usual sweatpants and sweatshirt, I may actually get dressed up!

If we do go out, I will DEFINITELY be wearing this outfit. Who can resist adding a little pink and red to their outfit on Valentine’s Day? NOT ME! Jeans are OBVIOUSLY a given for me. They are what I am most comfortable in. I bought this pair of jeans over the holidays and I love the fit. They are very flattering and they are currently ON SALE!

I imagine it is going to be pretty cold over Valentine’s Day here in New Jersey. February is always one of the coldest months of the year. For that reason, I know it will be important to layer. Here, I am wearing a long sleeved pink tee (old LuLaRoe) and a chunky knit sweater (old J.Crew). I finished the look with my go-to red flats, my favorite MZ Wallace bag, and my Ariel Gordon necklaces that I wear every single day. The bright red color of the bag is MADE for Valentine’s Day.

All together, they make for the perfect casual Valentine’s Day look!
