While I know we are spending most of our time indoors (#flattenthecurve), I thought it would still be fun to share a fun spring outfit with a little pop of yellow on the blog today. Don’t worry – Lauren and I shot this look weeks ago. We are DEFINITELY taking social distancing VERY seriously!
While I am working from home (with both kiddos at home with me #chaos – click HERE for some great activities to do with your toddler), I have been attempting to still get dressed every morning. I think getting dressed helps me set the tone and mood for my day. I have found that on days when I don’t get dressed, my mood isn’t as great and I am not as productive. I also don’t think my kids take me seriously if I am in sweatpants. That last bit may be in my head. Who knows?!
So…I have been LIVING in jeans (#jeansdayeveryday = my dream come true). Unfortunately, all of my pre-Nora jeans didn’t fit right. Thankfully, a month or so ago, I picked up a few new pairs.
I found this pair while on lunch break at The Mall at Short Hills. I walked by J.Crew and just couldn’t resist! While I was looking at their denim, I saw this nautical sweatshirt (40% OFF RIGHT NOW) and picked it up. Why not try them on together? As you know, I am from Los Angeles originally, so I couldn’t resist the LA reference. I loved the way the jeans and sweatshirt both fit so much that I brought them home together. And I have been pairing them together ever since.
When it came time to shoot the look with Lauren, it was a little rainy so I threw my trench coat on top of my outfit. It all looked so cute together so I kept the trench on for the shoot. I bought the trench coat a few years ago, and it has become a closet essential. I wear it whenever it rains, and I always feel so put together (and British) in it.
To finish the look, I wanted to add a little pop of color. These yellow flats had just arrived at my door the day before (thank you Naturalizer), and I knew they would brighten everything up and add a little sunshine! These flats are my absolute FAVORITE because they also BEYOND comfortable. Definitely an ALL DAY WEAR candidate.
I have worn this whole outfit out running errands, to work on jeans day, or at home on the couch. It is the perfect casual outfit for doing just about anything!
