On Wednesday night, E and I had our first real date night post-baby. Can you believe we haven’t been out, just the two of us, in over 8 months?!
We were invited by the New Jersey Devils to enjoy Game 3 of their first round playoff series against the Tampa Bay Lightning in one of their newly renovated suites. E is a HUGE Devils fan, so of course I said YES! Since we moved back to New Jersey from Boston, E and I have tried to attend at least one game per season, but this year we hadn’t made it because of Nathan. In years past we have typically sat in the Club level seating, but we were excited to see what a Suite had to offer!
We arrived at the Prudential Center in downtown Newark a little early to experience the Devil’s Den outside. It was a madhouse! So many Devils fans in a sea of red! We found our way to Will Call and picked up our tickets. After a quick security check we made our way upstairs to the Suite Level. We felt so important!
When we entered the suite there were trays of food (pretzel bites, chicken fingers, wraps, chips and salsa, fruit, and more!) and drinks. Before digging into the food we made our way to the seats at the front of the box. The view was AMAZING! You could see EVERYTHING so clearly!
Watching the game from the suite made it so easy to be part of the fan experience, and we could really feel the energy and intensity from the fans in the surrounding suites and sections above and below us. E was pleasantly surprised to find local craft beer on the concourse located just below our suite, and I was able to find a kosher hotdog just a few feet away!
A special surprise during the game was finding out that Patrick Warburton, aka David Puddy from Seinfeld, was in attendance, wearing full Devils face paint and a large red letter “D” on his chest. E said that taking a picture with him, and a Devils win, were the only things that could’ve made his experience even better.
Even though the Devils did not win the game, E and I had a great time watching a playoff game for the first time, meeting new and interesting people, and seeing what the Prudential Center had to offer.
Thank you New Jersey Devils for partnering on this post.
