Growing into the Chicco NextFit iX

A few months ago, right around when Nathan turned 9 months, it seemed to me that he was getting a little big for the infant car seat. His (not so) little belly was busting out! It was FINALLY time to install our Chicco NextFit iX Zip Convertible Car Seat! My friends RAVED about their Chicco KeyFit Infant Car Seats, so I was excited to see what their convertible car seat was like.

Chicco sent the car seat to us a few months earlier in preparation for this very day. It was sitting in the box just waiting to be opened! One Sunday morning, while Nathan was napping, E and I opened the box and installed the car seat. We were anticipating that it would take a while to install properly. We didn’t have the easiest time installing our infant car seats, and we have one in each of our cars, so we were afraid. Thankfully, the instructions included with the NextFit iX Zip Convertible Car Seat were detailed and actually VERY helpful. We installed the car seat in less then 20 minutes!

We have since been using the car seat for the past two months and Nathan LOVES it! Right now he is rear-facing. He rides in the car seat at least two times a day, to and from daycare. He has also sat in it for longer journeys, including a drive up to Boston for the weekend. He always seems so comfortable, happy, and secure in it! Nathan will be able to use this car seat all the way through preschool. It can handle up to 65 pounds! What I perhaps love MOST about this car seat is the fact that the seat pad is removable and machine washable. This is CRITICAL for those unfortunate blowouts and food messes. Thankfully, we haven’t had to use this function yet, but I am sure we will at some point… So far we are really loving the NextFit iX Zip Convertible Car Seat! We would HIGHLY recommend it! If you need help choosing the Chicco car seat that is right for your family, click HERE for some help!
