How To Take Family Photos With A Toddler

My family flew in from Los Angeles to celebrate Passover with us a little over a month ago. I had this wild idea that it would be a great time for some family photos. After all, we didn’t have any full family photos with Nora in them. So, I surprised everyone with a family photoshoot with my favorite photographer, Lauren, just before the first seder. We were all getting dressed up for the seder anyway. It was perfect timing!

Photoshoots have become slightly more complicated now that Nathan is a toddler. He is not nearly as cooperative as he once was. So, instead of getting frustrated and mad about it, we had a “go with the flow” attitude. Lauren just kept shooting. Sometimes Nathan would smile and cooperate, and other times he wouldn’t. While these photos aren’t perfectly posed, they are most definitely REAL. Nathan’s personality and strong will are on full display here. And honestly, I think that is the best thing I could have asked for. Lauren captured real moments with my family and I love them. I cannot wait to frame a few of the photos to hang in our home!
