My Fave Five – September 2020

I don’t know about you, but September just FLEW by for me! The month began with a few days off with E and the kiddos before they went “back to school.” We had so much fun taking little day trips with them. Post-Labor Day, we JUMPED back into our regularly scheduled programming. Work for me and E, and daycare/school for Nathan and Nora. We also observed the High Holidays this month. Happy 5781! I wish all those who celebrate a happy and sweet new year!

Without further ado, here are my five faves from September 2020!

ONE

Apple Picking at Riamede Farm

We took the kids apple picking over Labor Day weekend, and it was GLORIOUS. They actually lasted longer than I thought they would! We selected Riamede Farm because it is WAAAAAAY more low key then some of the other farms in Chester. E and I actually went apple and pumpkin picking at Riamede back in 2016!

Honestly, I was a little worried that the farm going to be PACKED but, thankfully, it was not. We went early, and I think that definitely helped matters. Nathan did such a great job wearing his mask! Most everyone else complied with the mask requirement. If someone wasn’t wearing one, we just steered clear.

Nathan and Nora loved running through the orchard, randomly stopping to pick apples along the way. We loaded up our bag, and then ate a hot dog lunch with an apple cider donut dessert. Fun was had by ALL!

TWO

A Trip to the Adventure Aquarium

Everyone RAVES about the Adventure Aquarium in Camden. E and I have been wanting to go for YEARS. During the kids’ vacation week from daycare, we decided to take a day trip down to check out the Aquarium. We made a reservation in advance and drove down early to avoid any traffic.

I can honestly say that we were really impressed with the Aquarium’s COVID protocols. Everyone is wearing a mask, they wipe down all surfaces with regularity, and they are limiting the number of visitors at any given time. We just felt so safe!

We really LOVED the Aquarium. They have so many different exhibits and different kinds of fish etc.. Nora was mesmerized by all of the different tanks! Both kids loved the outdoor penguin exhibit. Nathan couldn’t get over how the penguins were following him everywhere.

THREE

Pretty Blooms from Kerry Patel Poetic Florals

I learned about Kerry Patel Poetic Florals from one of my favorite (and fellow New Jersey) bloggers, Carly the Prepster. Kerry worked with Carly to design Carly’s GORGEOUS backyard wedding!

When I saw that Kerry was offering floral subscriptions, I signed right up! I went with the bi-weekly subscription. With the High Holidays coming, I knew it would be nice to have a beautiful floral arrangement gracing our table. It is also such a beautiful thing to look forward to. Who doesn’t love getting fresh flowers?!

FOUR

LOTS of Family Photos

A few weeks ago, Lauren came by to take some photos for the blog. I decided to use some of our time to take some updated fall photos. While the kiddos were less than cooperative, we ended up getting a lot of really great photos! Lauren just kept snapping away!

We also took our holiday card photos with New Moon Photography in studio last weekend, and I cannot wait to see them.

Scroll down for a sneak peek at both family shoots!

FIVE

My Modern Menorah via Via Maris

When I saw the Trace Modern Menorah, I knew I NEEDED to have it. Not only is it super functional (the removable cups will be a godsend when it comes time to clean the menorah), it is also beautiful enough to display all year round. I cannot wait to use it in December!
