Boo Basket Ideas for Kids

This year, Halloween is sure to be a bit different than previous years, due to COVID. As you might know, I buy the kiddos new Halloween pajamas every year, and give them to them on October 1st so they can wear them ALL MONTH LONG. Check out my blog post sharing all of my favorite Halloween jammies HERE.

In addition to gifting the kiddos Halloween pajamas, I am also going to be surprising them with Boo Baskets! I was introduced to the concept of a Boo Basket by Caitlin Kruse from The Mama Notes. It is such a cute idea! A Boo Basket is a bag or basket of Halloween items meant to get a kid excited about Halloween.

Over the last month or so, I have been picking up different Halloween crafts, books, stickers, etc. to include in each of their baskets. Most of the crafts and stickers came from either Michael’s or Christmas Tree Shops. Nathan is going to be particularly excited for his Bonaparte Falls Apart book! He is OBSESSED with skeletons at the moment.

I also included a few Usborne books in each of the kiddos’ baskets. I’m not an Usborne consultant, but was introduced to their books by a mom in our local community who is a consultant, and have fallen in LOVE. They have so many really great educational books available. They also had some really cute Halloween books that I couldn’t resist, including That’s Not My Bat!, the Little Halloween Coloring Book, and Poppy and Sam’s Halloween Party. I know the kiddos are going to love them!

Since these Boo Baskets were photographed, I have added a few additional arts and crafts projects to each bag. I added the laminated Play-Doh mats from my Magic Playbook subscription (only $9 a month) to Nathan’s basket. The haunted house, pumpkin, and bat are so cute!

I am so excited to celebrate Halloween all month long with Nathan and Nora! I can’t wait to see the looks on their faces when they open their Boo Baskets. Scroll down to see the contents of each of their baskets!
