Wearing My Heart On My Sleeve

I don’t know about you, but I feel like the holidays are one of the things that are getting me through COVID in one piece. Holidays, big or small, give us and the kiddos something to look forward to. I am definitely making a bigger deal out of every holiday than I normally do. That is DEFINITELY the case for Valentine’s Day. I feel like I have been preparing for Valentine’s Day since just after Christmas. Have I raided the Target and Dollar Tree Valentine’s Day aisles? OH YES. A few times…

I like to get a little dressed up for Valentine’s Day. I bought this lips shirt from J.Crew a few years back, and I wear it almost every year on Valentine’s Day. I found a similar shirt to mine that is super cute. It is linked HERE. I plan on wearing it this year with jeans (my favorite pair via Sadie James Boutique) and cozy socks (via Murray and Finn). This year, I bought each of the kiddos a heart tee shirt for them to wear on Valentine’s Day. I am including their shirts in their little gift bags that I am giving them on February 1st. I will be posting about their gift bags very soon!!! I can’t wait to share!

While E and I typically celebrate Valentine’s Day with a fancy dinner out or a fancy home cooked meal, this year, we will likely order in from one of our favorite local restaurants, open a bottle of wine, and play a few games of tic-tac-toe after the kiddos go to sleep. For the kiddos, we will be ordering a DIY heart pizza kit from Cioffi’s in Springfield. We ordered one last year, and it was such a big hit!

We will all be wearing our Valentine’s Day themed tee shirts, and will more than likely all end up piled on the couch watching a Disney movie together. Eating yummy take out and lounging with the people I love. What better way is there to celebrate Valentine’s Day?
