My 31 Day Fitness Challenge and Beyond

On January 1st, 2021, I challenged myself to work out every day throughout the ENTIRE MONTH of January. 31 straight days of working out.

To be honest, I was not confident that I would make it. Before January 2021, the longest “streak” I had been able to maintain on the Peloton (read my full Peloton review HERE) was 10 days, so this was definitely going to be harder and require more dedication. Thankfully, I know myself and I knew it would be impossible for me to ride for 31 days straight. I decided to alternate ride days with Emma Lovewell‘s 4 week Crush Your Core strength program. I had been wanting to do the program for a while (postpartum core strength is ROUGH) but couldn’t ever bring myself to start. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to hold myself accountable and work on strengthening all of my core muscles. The Crush Your Core classes range from 5 to 15 minutes. While definitely a work out, they don’t make you break out in a sweat the same way a ride does and, as such, don’t require a shower afterwards (for me anyways). I HATE showering at night.

Much to my surprise, I completed my 31 day fitness challenge with EASE. I had so much fun working out every night! To say that my motivation stemmed from a sea of blue dots would be an understatement. Once I saw how easy it was to work out 31 days straight, I decided to see how long I could continue.

As of today, I have completed 131 straight workouts. For the most part, I ride every other day and alternate with Crush Your Core or Yoga and Meditation. I have completed the Crush Your Core program three times and am now starting it for a 4th time now. I feel stronger than I ever have!
